October is just a couple of weeks away: know what that means? Autumn is finally, finally here. I couldn't be happier about the ch-ch-ch-ch-changes & being as nail-obsessed as I'm, that's often reflected on my fingertips.
Autumn, to me, means breaking away from those pretty, light spring summer colors & moving towards moody, dark shades. Perfect for studying in the library or grabbing dinner outdoors, these 7 moody dark nail polish colors will carry you through till diwali & beyond.
1. OPI Russian Navy
What this polish has to do with Russia, I don't know, but what I do know is that this deep blue is unlike any other color I've seen. It's different enough that you'll get tons of compliments when you wear it but muted enough so that it's not the focal point of your outfit.
If you've wanted to test out navy polishes, this is definitely the shade to try. Plus, it has crazy-long staying power (I'm talking 7 days chip-free) which is a must for me.
2. OPI Suede Russian Navy
Another from OPI, Suede Russian Navy is more of a matte finish, with a slight hint of shimmer, but no shine. Think of it as a bump-up from their matte. You're not supposed to use a base coat or a top coat with this polish to keep the intended finish, so it won't last as long as a typical polish.
3. Sally Hansen Navy Baby
This is a perennial favorite for all nail polish addicts & it's easy to see why: A. It's as close as you can get to a salon look at home, B. it's incredibly opaque & C. it's super-shiny.
Out of the 7 polishes on this list, it's definitely the best! If you want a tried-&-true favorite to add to your arsenal, look no further than this captivating deep blue.
4. Chanel Blue Satin
If you're looking for a navy blue that'll look amazing on you & all of your friends, look no further. Chanel's shade doesn't veer towards dusty or black & looks good without being gaudy. It's a staple you definitely need in your stash!
5. NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in Ink Stain
It's not too garish but still offers a nice pop of color. The best part about this polish is that it's completely opaque after two coats.
6. OPI Germany Collection in Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue
Before I found this shade, I'd completely given up searching for an opaque navy blue. As soon as I got this in the mail, I knew that this shade was a winner. Not only is it opaque after 2 coats, but the color is blue without being too warm or cool-toned, which makes it perfect for so many skin tones.
7. Lancôme Vernis in Love Nail Varnish Bleu de Flore
The most expensive of the bunch, Lancôme's Bleu de Flore is also the shiniest of the lot. A rich tealy, navy blue, it's flatteringly subtle & will complement just about any autumnal outfit.
What do you think??? What are your favorite navy blue polishes??? Do you own any of these?? Let me know in the comments!!
